Ways to Stop Snoring at Night
Many people suffer from snoring at night, however unless there is proper feedback from your spouse, there might be no way to determine if you're really snoring or not and the severity of it.
The main reason why we snore at night is because there is a blockage in our breathing pathway, and thus we turn to using our mouth to compensate as the airflows are disrupted. - Sleep on your side - It is widely accepted that sleeping on your back promotes snoring, therefore sleep on your side tonight and see if it helps you with stopping snoring. If you can not hold that sleeping position throughout the whole night, one way to do so is to place a tennis ball at the back of your pants, this way you won't be able to roll around the bed at night.
- Clearing your nose breathing pathway - Cold, flus and allergies can all make your nose block at night, making it difficult to breathe through your nasal pathway. You should always aim to have your nose clear before your sleep. Tips above can generally help a mild snorer to effectively stop snoring at night, however if you're a heavy snorer, you might be suffering from more than snoring! Snoring is more than a condition, it could be a tell tale sign of sleep apnea, therefore you should seek immediate consultation with your doctor.
