Don’t drink or eat before going to sleep – it is not true that a bedtime snack will help you sleep better.
When helping a child to stop sleepwalking, try to ascertain the usual time of the night when the sleepwalking starts. Do this by keeping a record for a few nights. You can then set your alarm to wake before he/she starts sleepwalking and prevent an episode with gentle reassurances that will put the child back to sleep.

Even though sleepwalking is considered not to be dangerous, certain people have a tendency to act dangerously while sleepwalking.
